5-7 Mostly Foody Post and Lotus

We have taken a Grab to the Lotus Supermarket which is the closest good grocer.

Cycles park in front.  There is a largish parking lot for cars in front.  The ATM on the left has been very handy - because here in Thailand you can pay for anything with cash - unlike China where no one takes cash and everyone pays with their phone.

Heaven forbid you couldn't get your weed at the grocery store and how about some snacks well you are at it.  All lined up on the right side of the parking lot.

We like to have our biggest meal some time between 2 and 4 in the afternoon.  Pool time is in the morning after breakfast and in the early afternoon before our meal if Michael has meetings in the evening as he does today.  But the monsoon season has started and we are still trying to figure out the pattern.  It can sometimes interfere with our afternoon conference in the pool (We do a lot of serious talking in the pool)  and that happened today.  Usually it only rains once and then is done - so we decided to chance going out to eat around 4pm.  A restaurant named 11/1 is highly rated and very close to us. They had a drinks menu to and we decided - hey, why don't we celebrate our two weeks in Thailand coming to an end with a drink.  I was intrigued with the name of this one - Long Iceland Tea.  Michael has been enjoying the beers here.

We have been eating a lot of salads - Papaya salad, mango salad and this one - a glass noodle salad.

We got the vegetable spring rolls - pipping hot and delicious.

Chicken with cashews - one of my favorites.

Shrimp green curry.  We usually get more than we can eat so we have something to snack on later.

We pass this store on our morning walks.  We teased Lisa that she has her retirement job waiting for her in Thailand.  Her Chinese nickname while in language training was Pu Lisha.

  1. The salads look great, but the real question is how was the Long Iceland Tea?
