5-10 Another Walk to Ao Nang Beach

Yesterday morning I had planned to walk with Michael in the morning.  Unfortunately I set my alarm for 6:25 PM.  So I tried again this morning with a lot more success.

The morning sky.

I will not miss these guys in the least!  You know the old adage that roosters crow at dawn.  It's not true.  I swear these two get into a crowing contest at 2:30AM on a regular basis.

I would be very tempted to try that last drink if I was the type to go to bars!

I just noticed today that there are breakfast/lunch places here.

Michael got the hat he is wearing here a few days ago.  He is greeting the owner and telling him we'll be back so he can get more hats.

The local Emergency Room.  The waiting room is outside and you have to take off your shoes - note shelves on the left.

They have their equivalent of the Dollar Store - The 100 Baht Store.  That is about $2.72.

I'm not sure what the name of this restaurant means.  Tante in some European languages means aunt and there is European foods sold here.

I have passed this police station so many times and there has never been anyone here.  But then again, it is always early morning.

My camera telephoto lens only goes to 200mm - but you can see how far out the rocks are in the water.

There are 3-4 cannabis sales places on every block.  Now Thailand is threatening to make it illegal.

What better ad for your food than to waft the delicious aromas onto the street so everyone going by gets hungry.

This cut is popular on a stick.  I love the turmeric flavored ones.

Back at the hat store, Michael tries on more hats.  He lost his expensive one in Xi'an, China.  He averages one hat loss a trip!  These are obviously knock-offs.  You can't get a Patagonia hat for $5 USD.

I amused myself taking reflection shots.

We pass a father and daughter waiting near a store as we are almost back to our place.  The father and I make eye contact and smile at each other.  After we passed them, I turned around and noticed this beautiful purple flowering tree.

They still sat there waiting, her backpack is sitting on the curb.  Maybe waiting for a ride to school.

Next we will pick up breakfast and head home to eat it.

  1. I didn't know that Uncle de-I was such an inveterate hat loser!

  2. I love these posts where you just share what's going around. Such nice accents to round out the informative visiting touring ones.
