September 2, 2022 - On to Sicily!

 The next adventure has begun!  We are in Chicago awaiting out flight to Munich and then on to Palermo, Italy.  We catch a car and driver to get us to our apartment in Cefula.  We will have no car - its just our feet or uber to get us somewhere.  We have purchased a yoga mat and a shopping cart from Amazon Italy that are already in the apartment..

We had one scare leaving Denver.  Mike checked his United App to find that only 2 or 3 checked pieces of luggage were on the plane.  He asked the flight attendant how accurate the App was and explained what was wrong.  Which one of us were going to arrive in Cefalu with no clothes or toiletries?  Our plane is already in line to take off.  Suddenly there is an announcement from the cockpit.  There is a problem with distribution of luggage and we have to return to a gate to readjust it.  Forty to forty-five minutes later we are finally on our way.  There are a lot of nervous people on the plane - afraid they will miss their connections.  When we got to Chicago those who had time were requested to wait and let those with short connections through first.  I wonder how many of them actually made their flights - some said they only had 5 minutes.  

When we got to luggage claims - we were anxious - which suitcases made it?  Actually they all did.  So what really happened.  Was there really a luggage unbalance issue - or did someone make a massive mistake and forgot a lot of the luggage that was supposed to be on the plane?  How accurate was that App?  We were just happy that we would not have to go out and buy a lot of clothes and toiletries!
