It's Friday and the girls have one more day of school. Lia will be dropped off there after her overnight bonding experience and Rob took Natasha by car. Then the adults drove to the train station near the apartment and took the train to Copenhagen Central Station.
Our first stop - since it was close to the train station - was to Rosenborg Castle. We did not go inside, but did visit the gardens next door.
The King's Garden as it was known was laid out in 1606 and was set aside for the royalty only. Now everyone can enjoy it.
A short distance away we visited the Marble Church also known as Frederiks Church.
The organ was my favorite thing - I love the swans on it.
Then we headed for the coast on a side street and passed this building. I am not sure what its purpose is.
And once more back to the Marble church.
At the square in front of Amalienborg Palace. We happened to get there just in time for the changing of the Guards.
And a photo just to prove we were here.
The opera house across the water.
A tall ship anchored in the harbor.
Fall is here - it is 10-20 degrees colder here than in Cefalu.
This is Nyhaven street/canal in Copenhagen. It is one of nine different areas in Copenhagen where you can see very colorful houses. I think this is the most well known.
While they are remodeling the second house above you can set your mouth watering for a chicken sandwich.
Then we headed back to the train station - Here are a few random street scenes.
The fire hydrants look a little different here.
Such wonderful pictures! So happy for you both to be with family in Copenhagen!
