Our granddaughters from Sweden arrived at midnight on 10/23 or maybe is was a few minutes later and actually 10/24. At any rate - we managed to stay awake long enough to get back to El Campello about 25 minutes later and all collapsed into bed. Hopefully to sleep late on Thursday.
Thursday morning we did indeed sleep late. Chief Michael produced eggs to order and all were satiated. We stayed in El Campello, starting the day with a visit to the Valor Cafe - for Churros and hot chocolate. I had this once before with Rene Michelle in Madrid at a Valor Cafe and loved it. It was enough for a dinner for me. Then it was 6 churros and hot chocolate. This branch of the Valor Cafe offered 4 churros and hot chocolate - which was plenty for breakfast. In fact some of our party complained that the hot chocolate was too chocolaty and rich.
It's always good to see a plug for Valor! It's true that Spanish drinking chocolate is much richer than regular hot chocolate. I figure that's why they give you tiny spoons, so you eat it slowly.
ReplyDeleteSuch an amazing spot you guys have. I am so grateful the girls got to spend time with you guys alone. Lovely that it was in Spain but it's fine for it to be anywhere - the company is really the key thing
