Sunday morning I took a long walk to the south. On Saturday we had walked up the steep hill to the Consum to get a few groceries, then RM wanted to do a long walk. I accompanied her partway heading south, but out of caution decided not to go as far. RM is still young enough to walk for hours with us and then come home and announce that she needs to go walking again because she hasn't got enough steps in!
So Sunday after a fresh night's sleep I decided to see how far I could go.
There is a section of beach that is closed and you have to walk on the car bridge to the other side before returning to the promenade.
Bridge view towards the mountains inland.
El Campello beach from the south.
Black and white.
View from promenade on the south side of the bridge - back to El Campello
A view back towards the north. Here the beach is rocky - or cobbled. You can still swim in the water. Someone told me that all the beaches in the area, including El Campello looked like this. They said all the beaches were cleared of rock and sand brought in. But when I tried to prove that on the internet - I could find no proof. So I don't know.
View south toward Muchavista beach - way over where those buildings are.
There are many beautiful flowers still blooming in late October.
Another view north - still lots of people walking on the promenade.
The view south - There is a huge stretch of plant debris - see close up below. There was a sign quite aways south from this point - that explained what the plant was and how it was necessary to the beach. I used Google translate - but somehow did not save it - if I had I could tell you exactly what it was! The sign did say that they only clean it up in time for the summer season, otherwise leave things as nature performs the rest of the year.
The road between the restaurants and the beach is much busier here than in El Campello where a good stretch of it is closed to traffic. According to RM even further south the tram also runs between the beach, the road and the promenade and Restaurants.
Lots of paddle boarders here.
On the way back I thought I would walk along the path in the dog park. Lots of others had the same idea - we were all disillusioned as the path does not go through! So I took lots of extra steps - But the views were worth it.
All pebble beaches
It is a lovely promenade, and I´m glad you can both walk it and enjoy the view from your apartment. You have found a good home away from home.
