The Baroque city of Noto - October 18

Today we drove to the baroque city of Noto.  Michael and I had our first experience this trip, driving on extremely narrow Italian city roads.  We missed the turn into the parking lot and ended up exploring lots of tiny narrow one way streets trying to get back to where we started and find the parking lot.  Michael did a great job keeping his cool as frustrating as it was.  One turn was almost a 360 degree turn.  He had to back up several times to make the curve.  We finally found the parking lot and made our way to the old town and the Cathedral.

                                                          First this famous stair case.

                                                              Narrow one way streets.

                                                                       The Cathedral.

A stop for ice cream after a child melt-down.  We are not going to mention all the adult meltdowns!

We then went into the City Hall - a photo of the ceiling and a relief.

In the City Building we could go out on a balcony to get a different perspective on the city.

Stopping for lunch of pasta in an outdoor cafe.  You don't have to wear a mask unless you got inside to the bathroom.

  1. I was there and I can concur - not only small people have had melt downs on this trip. Getting back into the swing of things takes time. Ice cream and sunshine definitely help.
