October 26 - Travel day to area near Palarmo

 We were so happy to be able to visit Valley of the Temples in Agrigento in spite of the weather forecast.  Today was supposed to be another bad day - but we only had sprinkles as we drove from Agrigento to our next rental house in Carini.  We have a great rental with fantastic views.  BUT - that means a crazy drive up the mountain on single lane roads with extreme switchbacks with two way traffic!!  Michael managed to navigate just fine - but he was quite stressed by it.  This is nothing like the wide open roads in the US of A.  Here are some views from the upstairs deck.

                       It brightened up a bit by afternoon.  The Ionian sea is in the distance.

On the left is another of the cactus we saw in the Valley of the Temples garden area.

We used the day to do laundry.  The round hanging gadget with clothes pins worked perfectly for bras.  I didn't make Michael hold it the whole time they dried as it took days.  He hung them in the upstairs shower which we were not using.

We used every surface to hang up things.  My wardrobe worked well for shirts and sweaters.
