Sunday we all traveled from Istanbul to Kiev Ukraine. Lisa on a different airline. But both of our flights had issues and were delayed. We are flying out of Istanbul's new airport which is much further out from the city. They also don't have there act together. Our flight was about 1 hour late in leaving - with no explanation at all of what was going on. The plane was clearly visible waiting for us. Everyone kept lining up - then told to go sit down. When they finally started boarding everyone just crowded into the line - the flight people were clearly upset that we weren't following the rules - which they refused to tell us. Altogether very frustrating for all. On Lisa's flight they went through the entire paper manifest passenger by passenger checking all documents again once all were on board.
But we all made it to Kiev, where Tim (husband of Lisa) picked us up. We went out to a Georgian restaurant for dinner and then to bed.
Both Lisa & Tim have to work on Monday and the kids will have school. Mike and I are tired and took the day off. After the last many days of busyness I was very happy to spend my birthday catching up on accounting and blogging and resting. The birthday dinner is planned for Tuesday night.
OMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY! But we will celebrate in proper style in Greece.
