We were happy to fit in a visit by RM to our El Campello home away from home. I believe it is her third time visiting us here. She comes by train from Madrid which lets us visit another part of Alicante. This time her arrival time on Friday, coincided with lunch time so we found a sidewalk cafe on our walk back to the parking garage. Michael and I got Menu del Dia and RM got two appetizers. The food came quickly and was tasty - Spanish comfort food. We got way too much and when we tried to ask for take away - I think the waitress just ignored us. I'm pretty sure she understood what we were asking for as RM has pretty advanced Spanish. We stopped at Carrefour so RM could stock up on her favorite English food products.
First - photos from my morning walk.
Proof of healthy eating. Salad and artichoke with dipping sauce. Ignore the wine!
A photo of the rising moon on the way back on Sunday evening after we had dropped RM off at the train station.
We spent the weekend taking walks, eating food late into the night Spanish style at beach bars and doing a lot of talking. RM is the daughter of my brother Gerry who recently passed away in August. Lots of reminiscing on both the great things about him and also some not so good things that resulted from childhood trauma. None of us passed through life unscathed. I miss him a lot.
