After our session with the photographer last night we went to bed very very late. Concentrating so hard on learning new technical ways of working on our photos had us both wired up!
We had planned to go early to the city market this morning. We did get there around 8am and it was plenty early. There were still a lot of vendors setting up. The market is huge. It is larger than the Albert Kelp market in Amsterdam which has one very long street with a few vendors branching off on side streets. This was at least two parallel roads with long rows of vendors going off both sides of them. We totally avoided the shoe and clothing sections and stuck to the food vendors.
This vendor sold nuts and candied fruit.
This vendor was a late comer. He is just parking his vehicle and will now start setting up his booth.
Peaches!
Not quite ready for prime timed!
Cheese vendor we met up with early on - Michael promised he would come back and purchase his mother's home made cheese.
Lady making Gozelme. I asked her if it was OK to take her photo as she made it. She agreed. She rolls out the dough very thinly.
After it is rolled out. She adds a mixture of spinach and cheese.
Folds it in half and cooks it.
Cuts the cooked product in halves and rolls it up
She then handed it to us. We were expecting to pay her - but she repeatedly refused our cash. It was so good!
This vendor has a large supply of product in his/her truck.
Peppers
You can get olive oil and other prepared products as well.
Nuts and other goodies. All were willing to give us samples to try.
Spices
Interesting Tea Flavors.
The start of the clothing section - we turned around here. They like their plastic shoes here.
Not sure what these are.
Tomatoes and cucumbers
Another unknown vege or fruit.
Dragon fruit
Corn on the cob. Great flavor - chew feels more like field corn, but it was sweet.
Back to the cheese vendor.
Finishing the deal.

that market looks epic! There was not nearly so much food stalls on the Albert Cuyp - Alexis
