Noember 1 - Castellammare del Golfo

 Castellammare del Golfo - that is where we choose to go. It is somewhat on the way back to our rental and on the coast.  So hopefully it will have better weather.  We were sort of right.  At least it didn't rain.                                          

The seaside was beautiful.  We  found a place to park.  But we could not find out how to pay for parking                                        and finally decided that it must be free.  

                              Here are the steps up to the old town - we did not know that until later.

It was clearly a fishing harbour.  It was lovely.  The fishing boats were all back in port.  Later I saw a fisherman trying to untangle his nets.

                                                              Across the way is the fortress.

After lunch we decided to walk around.  Along the we saw this wall filled with Rotary Club plaques.  But it continued up the steps.

                                 At the top and near the old city we looked back to these views.

We could see some storm clouds coming in - so decided to head back home before the rain came.  We did make it home in time. Tomorrow we head for our next home stay in Cefalu as we continue our way around the island.  Our next week will be spent in an apartment in the city of Cefalu.  We are looking forward to a new experience.
