November 8 - Cefalu'

 Today is our last full day here in Cefalu'.  Tomorrow we drive on to Taormina which will be our last stop before heading to the airport in Catania and then on home.

It is predicted to rain all day and this time they were right!  Some of our neighbors had laundry hanging out - so those clothes got several more complete rinses!  We  decided it was a good day to stay in.  We had talked about going out for one last gelato around 11 and then a late lunch at 2pm.  The rain pattern of gentle mist to rain to torrents of rain kept repeating.  Gelato became less enticing because of the rain - so we gave it a pass.  

Just before 2pm the rain really slowed down.  We decided to make a dash to the restaurant around the corner.  Sunday - a beautiful sun shiny day, the restaurant was packed inside and out.  Today there was one other couple inside.  As we were finishing our meal the rain started pouring faster and louder.  

We were stuck in the restaurant for another half a hour - waiting for the rain to let up.

Finally it seemed to be lighter.  We made the dash from the restaurant to our apartment.  Everything was fine until we got to the parking lot and I forgot about the big dip at one point and stepped right into it with both feet.  I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to dry my shoes.
