Today we stayed in Cefalu'. We are pretty beat-up by all the touring we have done. We did some laundry - most likely the last until we get home - and not much else. We didn't leave the apartment until after 2pm. We needed a couple of groceries and wanted to see if the small store two buildings down was open. Most grocery stores and shops close for lunch which is from 1 - 3pm. But this place also sells sandwiches and other snacks so it was open.
Our next stop was for lunch. We are going back Il Gabbiano, which we liked the last time. They were not highly rated on Google, but we think Google is wrong. Michael had an antipasto of thinly cut swordfish and salmon. He loved it. I filled up on bread - in Italy they charge you a cover charge for the bread which irritates the heck out of me - because why would you fill up on bread, and it doesn't matter if you eat it or not - you still get charged.
Michael ordered the lamb chops and I ordered the Sea Breem. There are only a few sides to choose from - chips (fries) grilled vegetables or salads. We got the grilled veges and the chips. Now, I have ordered fish before. A lot of times, if you order fish or meat, you get a small very thin piece, but today, Michael got 4 chops and I got a whole fish. Both were fantastic. When you order grilled vegetables you always get thin slices of eggplant and zucchini. But this time we got both of them plus onion, yellow pepper and mushroom. We will try them again tomorrow which is our last full day here in Cefalu'.
That parking ramp is outrageously narrow!
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a walking path!
