Yep, missed it - granddaughter was sick so we Wait until she felt better. But we still got chocolate! When we stopped at a cafe for our morning snack I got hot chocolate. It was as I remembered from previous visits to Italy - so thick you needed a spoon to eat it. We also bought several bars of chocolate to enjoy later on.
Girls and silly faces in a plaza.
The church:
There was a clown passing out what looked like free balloons. As she put them in the children's hands - then stuck out her hand and demanded 2 euros - This has happened more times this visit to Italy. It is really annoying as it is not a 3rd world country and people should be more honest than that. In Florence an African immigrant put a leather bracelet on Mikes arm and insisted it was for him. We had a nice conversation about his country - he put a string bracelet on my wrist. Then when we walked away he demanded 5 Euros. Needless to say we gave them back to him as we never wanted them in the first place. He was so insistent about giving them to us and we did not want to be rude. Alexis gave the Italian clown 1 Euro and said if that wasn't enough the clown could take the balloons back - Natasha did not want the balloon in the first place. The clown stalked off.
My artsy picture in this series. This is Alexis and Rob - The rest of us had already descended the dark stairs on our way to the restaurant.
And some last views from old town Perugia off into the countryside.
Your granddaughters are darling! Wonderful family memories in the making! Continuing to enjoy your photos!
ReplyDeleteThe balloon stunt is terrible and I can see why you'd be annoyed.
