Citti Di Castello

The nearest town to our rental house is Citti Di Castello (CDC).  I think all of the villages in Italy have an "old town" and a "new town" that has grown up around it.  In the old towns the roads are narrow and for the most part single laned and CDC is no different.  We researched parking before we went and managed to find it easily down a single one way lane road.  We explored the old town, looked at lots of art in a church and in official government buildings.  It is off season so it was a bit of a challenge to find a restaurant open.  The owners always look happy when the 6 of us walk in, even though two are children - at least they have some business.  We also found a park so the girls could have a good play.  Back in the parking area which is just a single row of angled parking spots we tried to figure out how to get out.  Rob decided the only way out was too narrow and opted to go the wrong way out the way we came in - luckily no ticket.  Mike folded in our car's mirrors and drove slowly out the narrow passage way - no scratches - whew!

  1. To face scratching the car or having to break the law - I'd have a terrible time making that decision.

  2. I feel that risk was relatively small - we saw someone else pulling the same stunt.
