Last Day in Bail

Our last day in Bali.  I had expected and hoped for a quiet day.  Michael wanted to take a cooking class, and I was OK with that.  I would just stay at Villa Oscar and chill out.  So Michael left at 7am so he could go to the local market with his teacher.  I got up shortly after he left.   He had left a message that I was to be picked up between 11:30 ad 12 to go to lunch to share what he had cooked.  So only a few hours to catch up on my blog posts.  So the lunch was interesting.  I love Curry's - and one of the dishes was chicken curry.  There was a pork dish that was sweet and spicy which was delicious,  There was a fish grilled in banana tree leaves - not as crazy about that, and of course, rice.  I don't know if I have mentioned on this blog - but in Indonesia if you don't have rice with your food it is a snack not a meal.  It doesn't matter whatever starch is offered.

A shopping street in Lovinia next to the beach

The dolphin statue on the beach.  Our meeting place with our driver, Bob.  Below, Mike has turned out to be the shopper for gifts in our family.  He negotiated with the ladies below to get the best prices for shirts for our son-in-laws and himself.

We went to a Wrung - small cafe for drinks and music.  The owner played  bamboo gamelan.  He taught me how to play some rhythms while he played the Melody.  At the end he had me playing a 3 toned rhythm and Mike a one toned rhythm while he played the melody..  Go to Face book for Mikes post of my experience.  .  He was great!
Of course their are children every where you go.  They were in the restaurant where Mike took the cooking class.  And here in the Waring.  This guy wanted his picture taken.

His friend was shy at first, but then he shoved the first guy out of the way - it was his turn!

Not sure whose daughter this was - but she and her brother acted like children all over  the world.  They begged their Dad for treats.
The rest of the day was spent packing and doing blogs.  Tomorrow we are off to Malaysia to see \daugher Lisa and family.
