We have already been to Johor Bahru once with Alexis and family. We were more trying to find particular sites with them. This time we were just wandering the streets looking for Photo ops. We left around 3pm as we wanted to go to the mall for lunch/dinner first. We had had a good experience at the Tea Garden with A & R and Michael had in mind a lot of dishes he wanted to try. But first we passed a clothing store that had t-shirts on display at the front of the store that looked just my style and cut. They are a brand called Oldskool. I got 3 of them for a total of USD of $16.50. Then on to dinner.
We got two curry dishes - this was the Dry Curry Chicken Noodles.
Hainanese Curry Chicken Rice - both were delicious.
Then we left the mall heading towards Old Town not far away. It had rained a little, but now was fine.
A photo of the mall we were in.
All of the street lights have these decorations on them. The crescent + star and the Gambier leaves.
This mall is right next to the Komtar Mall. It is the Johor Bahru City Square.
Art installation that was fun to take photos of.
Doesn't this just entice you to open a store here?
Coming up to the Sikh temple.
I think this was a decorative way of getting the rain water off the sidewalk.
Sikh Temple
Hindu Temple next door.
Street scene - note the Rotary sign!
You can tell we have entered Little India.
Former government office - we went there with A&R.
Where to go to buy your sari.
There are plenty of dilapidated buildings.
Silk cloth for sale.
