Though - not for me. I can't even imagine the strength it must take to hold the sails when the wind is so strong.
I think this is paragliding. There are two people in the seats. Almost looks like hot air ballooning!
The boat pulling them is really tiny in the bottom left hand corner.
The water in front of us just next to the harbor is a major hangout for wind surfers. Here is a close up - or as close as I can manage from our 10th floor windows - of the surfers and their sails.
The minute the winds start getting stronger in the afternoons, they start to gather. This photo is also from our 10th floor windows. This was on Saturday so a lot more of them today.
We were heading for the same restaurant along the Sea that we had eaten the very good pizza at. So I am taking the rest of these photos from the boardwalk. I have also cropped them a lot. The wind surfers are quite a ways from shore. And some of them head off into the sea until you almost lose sight of them before they turn around and head back to shore.
I don't know how they do it - it must be by how they hold the sail to be able to turn around and go in the opposite direction. The two surfers on the outside seem to be gong to the left. The two in the middle to the right.
A quick video of a surfer with the largest sail. It looks like the said is attached to his board. All the others seem to be hand held.
the action on your beach is enviable!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you'd have to have a lot of skill to do that!
