Our AirBnB Apartment and Views

We are fortunate to have a great AirBnB hostess.  When we arrived in Bilbao, she met us at the apartment building to show us how to get to the parking which is located on level -1.  Our reserved parking space is pretty big by European standards   Michael had no problem getting into the spot with her directions.  However neither of us paid enough attention to her exact directions and the second time parking did not go so well.  But we always figure it out.

Then she led us through a maize of 3 corridors with many many doors, but only 3 correct ones to show the way to get to the elevator.  Some of those doors were entrances to individual lockers for each tenant, others were just mystery doors.  The right 3 doors were not clearly marked.  From the elevator we went up to the 4th floor where we have Apt B of two apartments.  Once inside she showed us where everything was.  Gave laundry instructions and then said she needed to get us more toilet paper and also something for our breakfast as she always likes to have something for her guests.  We are always happy to have one roll of toilet paper and a working appliances.  She went above and beyond.  She came back with bread, butter and eggs as well as the 12 rolls of toilet paper!

And of-course she showed us the views.  We are right across the street from a large hospital complex.  I am hoping I will not have need to explore it!  There are great views from the kitchen balcony.

The balcony off the kitchen.  Notice the washer and dryer on the right.  This is unusual - usually there is just a washer and rack for drying clothes.  We have the rack as well -  next to the washer.

The living room/dining room area.  The street on this side is more residential.

The kitchen is really well stocked.  It is the end of the tourist season and previous guests have left a myriad of things.  There is a lot of coffee, tea bags, sugar salt and pepper, olive oil and other cooking oils.  The refrigerator is crowded with mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and other condiments.  There are also 6-8 cans of beer.

There is a very busy road below us.

Way to the left we can see the river.

This is closer up - you can see where the river divides.

A couple of photos of the large hospital.

I shot this video from our balcony off the kitchen.  This is a traffic circle with a road running right through the center of it.  If you want to make a left turn - you must get in the far right lane of traffic.  I have never seen this traffic pattern before - not even in Spain.  I wonder if it is particular to Bilbao?

Another neighborhood shot to the left.
